International assistance

THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN SUSPENDED

OKO invites applications from young lawyers from abroad with knowledge of International Criminal Law and Human Rights Law to apply for an OKO fellowship.

Each OKO Fellow will work within one of the four 'Tim za Podrsku Odbrani' (TPOs) or defence support teams within OKO. They will be supervised by a lawyer from BiH working in conjunction with pripravniks. This experience allows young lawyers from abroad to gain practical experience in defending actual war crimes cases, allowing them to put their training into practice.

OKO Fellows will also have the opportunity to work with their supervising lawyer to produce an original piece of legal scholarship. OKO Fellows will be encouraged to publish their work in the OKO Reporter as well as in major international law reviews. We request that each fellow carefully consider the short research proposal required in the application form. We encourage applicants to demonstrate their understanding of international humanitarian law, international criminal law, or human rights law by submitting proposals that are both relevant to legal scholarship and the practical work of OKO.
